Today I'm supposed to blog about something that I'm proud of in the past few days. Unfortunately, my life is pretty uneventful, so this post isn't going to be too exciting.
Recently at work, my boss has been giving me all these new assignments. This is probably because almost everytime he walks by my desk, I'm playing solitaire because there's nothing for me to do. But I like to pretend it's because he sees me as someone who can handle lots of responsibility. A cool thing that he's had me start this week is making CD/DVD labels. This is super fun/creative. Basically, he brings copies of a DVD, and says, make a few prototypes. Then I get to design my very own movie covers! After, I bring him my ideas and he picks which one he likes best. I know, you're jealous of my job.
Another thing he's had me start doing is scanning all the contracts with our clients. This is fun mostly because there are really old documents in these file folders--like from the early 90's. Every time I see a contract that old, I think, "this paper is almost as old as I am!" Clearly I'm a beacon of responsibility since I'm allowed to handle these fragile papers.
Tomorrow I get to start scanning pictures. AND he told me I can scan any old pictures I have that I'd like to save to a computer. PARTY.
In conclusion, even though these things may not seem like that big of a deal, I'm proud that I've been able to learn new things. I'm proud that I've shown enough intelligence/competence/tech-savvy-ness that my boss trusts me enough to handle these things. Or maybe he just likes me because he's from Jacksonville too.
