Southern California

I don't know if you heard, but we've been having a cold snap in these here parts the last week.

I know, you're probably laughing.  Especially if you're reading this from your computer in Utah or Idaho or somewhere else where it's gone down into the single digits and negatives temperature wise.  But let's be real here, this is SoCal.  It is not normally in the 30's here.

The other day, I decided to go out for a walk with a friend.  I checked the weather before we left.  It said that it was 39 degrees outside, but that it felt like 34 (because of the wind chill).  I said, "No fear!" and bundled up London and myself.  I had flashbacks to my college days of bundling up before sludging through the snow and ice to class as I put on my big winter coat over my sweater, t-shirt, leggings and jeans.  I put London in the same clothes we used for sledding.  (Never thought I would have to pull them out again until the next kid...).  Once we started our walk, my friend and I kept saying how it really wasn't that bad.  And all bundled up, and looking at it in the big scheme of things, it wasn't.  But then....

London started FREAKING OUT.  Big time, major, totally inconsolable.  You see, even though she was all bundled up...she doesn't have any gloves or mittens.  We tried a blanket, but she doesn't understand that she needs to keep her hands underneath the blanket for it to do any good.  And also...well..there were goldfish.  Her favorite, sitting on her little tray in the stroller, just within reach.  But you know how when your hands get cold you can't move your fingers very well?  I think that was occurring.  And when you're (almost) 10 months old, not being able to get your delicious, heavenly, most wonderful, delectable goldfish to your mouth is absolutely devastating.  So 10 minutes into our walk, we had to turn around and go home.

So that is my story about our little snap here in LA.  However, thank London's stars, it is already ending.  Yesterday we went to Disneyland.  The forecast claimed temperatures would be in the 60's, and that it would be windy.  By 11, it was already in the 70's.  Now, that is more like it!!  Add that to the fact that we pretty much walked onto every ride (except for Peter Pan, but that was still pretty short!), and we had the makings of possibly the best Disney trip ever. Even London thought so!  She was dancing and laughing and so happy to be there.  It was awesome!  Sometimes, I love Southern California.  It's not so bad.

With Mandy and Avonlea on the teacups.

Getting ready to ride Dumbo.  Don't let her face fool you, it's her favorite.

I love how they call it a cold "snap" - is that really a thing??

I am not equipped for cold weather any more haha. We had a southern winter weather freak out and Devin was even told to come into work a hour late. Our ward temple trip was canceled and the list keeps going.

Apparently there was a little bit of ice...but I don't think it was bad.

Her little melt down sounds so sad, but hilarious at the same time. Do you ever take videos?

Autumn- welcome to the Deep South's winter scares. Though when you see how some people drive around here in the snow/ ice you will see it can be scary. lol!

Isn't it crazy how fast you get acclimated to the weather here!! We're always freezing at like 50 degrees :)
