The Golden State With the Golden Gate

Hi Friends!!  Sorry for the lack of blogging.  The third trimester is here and I am “nesting.”  That always makes me feel like I should be burrowing in blankets and settling down for hibernation or something.  But really it’s more like I’m cleaning and organizing and rearranging furniture and putting together cribs and double stroller shopping and washing all the sweet little newborn clothes (so excited they are getting used again!!!!)  Longest run-on sentence ever, but I just really wanted you to feel the OVERWHELMING-ness that is “nesting.”  It’s not snuggling in blankets, but sometimes I wish it was with how tired I feel.  Only nine weeks left though, so I mean, I can totally do this.  Plus I am praying that she comes early because I’m kind of over being pregnant.  And I also just want to finally cuddle this sweet little thing that keeps dancing on my bladder and karate-chopping/kickboxing in my belly.

Obviously with all this nesting-drudgery going on, we were in need of a vacation.  I’ve been wanting to go to San Francisco forever (I’d never been before!)  Dan’s cousin Mike and his wife Steph live there, so we went to go visit them this last week and see all the charms the city has to offer.   We had such a great time, and Mike and Steph were such awesome hosts—they took us to get some of the yummiest food I’ve ever had, and London already misses her newest best friends.  We’ll have to get together again soon!

We drove up on Wednesday and the first thing I wanted to do was see the Golden Gate!  We went to Lands End which has some pretty great views and nice walking/jogging paths.  We got really lucky because the fog was at a minimum most of our trip, so that made the views that much better—it always helps to be able to see what you’re trying looking at. ;)

London had a lot of fun stretching her legs after being in the car all day (she didn’t throw up once, by the way!! Victory!!) She even made friends with a cute little doggie.  Dan keeps saying that we’re never having a dog…but I think London might be able to push him over in a few years.  At least that’s what I’m hoping for.

We tried to get a family picture, but London was basically refusing to look at the camera—she just wanted to get back down and keep running around!  Unfortunately all that frolicking ended up in a faceplant in the dirt…so London now has a nice little scar right under her nose.  It’s kind of sad—she looks like she has a constant bloody nose, and her scab keeps falling off before it is ready because she always sucks her two middle fingers and rests her pointer right where that scab is.  Oh well, bumps, scrapes, and bruises are just a part of childhood right?  She is having a lot of fun, we just need to work on that whole coordination thing—and I guess learning how to break a fall with our hands and not our face.

Gorgeous photos! We never made it up to San Fran all the years we were in South Pas. Maybe later :) And I second what Dana said - you look GREAT!
