I'm a little embarrassed that it's already halfway through January and I'm just now blogging about our Christmas. But at least I'm almost caught up! It just took me a little longer than I thought it would.
My family met us at my Grammie's apartment in Utah for Christmas this year. Things were a little cozy, but it was a lot of fun.
On Christmas Eve we went to my Uncle Mike's house for our traditional dinner of tamales, some musical performances, and good times with family. I love Christmas Eve so much. It is probably my favorite night of the year--I hope that as my girls grow older I can make it as magical and special a night as it was (and is!) for me.

For the record, these were the best cookies I've ever had. I don't want to admit how many ate. |

London found someone's phone... |
After the fun at Uncle Mike's we went back to Grammie's and enjoyed a few more traditions--including Christmas jammies and reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
The rest of the night was spent doing some last minute wrapping...yay for procrastination! ;)
We woke up Christmas morning to what my Grammie described as an "obscene" amount of presents. That always seems to happen when my family gets together.

I like to call this one, "Grunge Hope." (Santa brought her a guitar for Christmas!) |

A very groggy London checking out her presents from Santa. |

I think she likes them! |

Everyone in their special Santa hats. |

Halfway through the opening...like Grammie said, "OBSCENE!" |

Mimi snuggling with Juliet under the quilt she made for her. |
After a scrumptious Christmas dinner, we headed across the street to Temple Square to see the lights. I think that is one of the things I miss the most about Christmas in Utah. It's so cold outside, but I always feel warm as we walk around and see all the lights and nativity scenes. Is that so cheesy?

Hope and her roommate, Elsie. She spent Christmas Day with us since she's from Ghana and that makes it a little difficult to go home for Christmas. |

Our family, minus Juliet--it was a little too cold out for her! |

Red noses! |
I'm so grateful that we had the chance to celebrate the birth of our Savior with my family. I so love the Christmas spirit and remembering the miracle that occurred in Bethlehem so long ago. We are so blessed to have a Savior that was willing to come to earth and atone for all of our sins. Finding faith and love in Christ is such a beautiful gift, and I will never have enough room for gratitude in my heart for that sacrifice He made. Spending time with family at this time of year is like a little glimpse of the peace we can look forward to because of Christ's sacrifice. (Although I like to think there might be a little less sibling drama. We can hope we grow out of that, right??) ;)

You are so good at taking photos of family events- that is something I have to work on big time.
I can't believe how much London has grown up this school year...she has enough hair for a little bob now! That is wild to me.
I love that y'all were able to spend time together for Christmas! :)
It was fun and memorable..so glad you could all be here!
Awww I love seeing you and your family. The pictures are truly poetic and make me joyful to know you are doing so well. Such a lucky family to have you in it. PS It's so crazy to hear you talk about making Christmas magical for your girls... I still think of you as the crazy college coed in the pipi long stalkings get up runing around Heritage halls speaking in a British accent. ha ha ha Love you forever and always!!!!!!!!
